Accounting Technician, Assurance and Accounting (Bilingual)

The role of Accounting Technician involves preparing detailed financial information and supporting the Assurance and Accounting team to meet client needs in the financial reporting landscape. Responsibilities Prepare and update government remittances and filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions Prepare client files Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process Maintain, monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany transactions and point of sale/system uploads Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop solutions Respond to information requests from various levels of government Work collaboratively with the engagement team Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary Skills Accounting certificate Advanced knowledge of French Up to 5 years of relevant accounting experience Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes Experience using accounting software Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is considered an asset Experience preparing T4 and T5 slips is considered an asset Benefits Generous base pay Vacation time 4 paid personal days A group pension plan with 4% matching Voluntary savings products Bonus programs Flexible benefits Mental health resources Exclusive access to perks and discounts Professional development assistance MNP University A flexible ‘Dress For Your Day’ environment Firm-sponsored social events Company Overview MNP is an accounting, tax and business consulting firm that provides various strategies to public, private and not-for-profit sectors .
