Responsibilities Contribute to design and code reviews, learning and applying platform and development best practices to build high-quality, maintainable data pipelines Monitor Databricks and Airflow jobs and queries, helping identify performance issues and working with senior engineers to implement improvements Assist in the design and evolution of data platform components built on Databricks and Airflow, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and cost awareness Author and maintain clear documentation for pipelines, workflows, data models, and platform usage to support operational excellence and onboarding Partner with platform, analytics, and engineering teams to support adoption of modern platform features and data governance standards Build and operate production-grade batch and near–real-time data pipelines, including basic monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks Learn and apply platform best practices by collaborating closely with senior engineers and participating in incident response and postmortems Communicate findings, improvements, and operational insights through dashboards, queries, or short written updates to help teams make informed decisions Skills 1–4 years of experience working with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools, including: Building and maintaining DAGs for production workloads. Understanding retries, scheduling, dependencies, and basic sensor usage 1–4 years of experience developing in Python, with familiarity in writing readable, testable, and maintainable code 1–4 years of experience working with Databricks or a comparable data platform, including: Building ETL/ELT pipelines using Delta Lake or similar technologies. Basic familiarity with SQL Warehouses, job compute, and performance concepts Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with exposure to: Cloud storage (e.g., S3), IAM concepts, and managed services.
