Key Responsibilities: As a Personal Trainer at the YMCA, you will be responsible for: Consulting with clients to develop personalized training plans that meet their unique goals and needs Instructing clients on proper exercise technique and providing ongoing support and feedback Designing and implementing group fitness programs that cater to diverse fitness levels and interests Providing education and guidance on healthy lifestyle habits and wellness principles Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all clients, including those with disabilities or special needs Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless delivery of services Participating in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest fitness trends and best practices Requirements: To be successful as a Personal Trainer at the YMCA, you will need: Certification in one or more of the following: ACE - CPT, NETA - CPT, AFAA CPT, Cooper Institute - CPT, IFPA - CPT, NASM or equivalency Averaging 5-9 paid personal training sessions a week (1 hr., ½ hr., small group training) Successful completion of online or in-class required certifications Minimum of 1 year in the health and fitness field Sales experience preferred Availability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with diverse populations, including those with disabilities or special needs Knowledge of group fitness programming and delivery Experience with fitness technology and software Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Benefits and Perks: As a Personal Trainer at the YMCA, you will enjoy: A competitive salary Free Family Membership Program discounts: 50% off - Personal Training, Private Swim Lessons, Resident Camp 100% off - Before & After School Care; Day Camp; Swim Lessons; Sports, Enrichment and Ignite/Small Group training Generous retirement benefits - 12% after eligibility is met Employee Assistance Program Paid Sick Time Opportunities for professional development and growth Our Culture: At the YMCA, we strive to live our cause of strengthening communities with purpose and intentionality every day.
