Job Overview As a DAEP Teacher, you will be responsible for collaborating with home school teachers to develop personalized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each student. You will provide instruction in core academic subject areas, helping students to fulfill their potential and develop essential skills for success. Your expertise and guidance will enable students to learn social skills, manage their behavior, and interact positively with teachers and peers. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program and accommodate different learning styles Provide instruction in core academic subject areas, using a range of instructional strategies and materials Conduct assessments to identify student learning styles and modify curricula as needed for special education students Collaborate with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods Plan and supervise assignments of teacher assistants and volunteers Use technology to enhance the teaching/learning process Teach students necessary social skills to be successful in the regular classroom Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and provide feedback to home campus regarding student behavior Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills and stay informed of state, district, and school regulations and policies Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for levels assigned Demonstrated competency in core academic subject areas Ability to work with children with behavior problems Knowledge of core academic subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills CPI training required At least one year of student teaching or approved internship experience Preferred Qualifications Special Education EC-12 certification English 7-12 or 8-12 ESL certification Experience working with students with special needs Knowledge of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and experience with modifying curricula for special education students Experience with technology integration in the classroom Strong behavior management skills and ability to create a positive classroom environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Workwarp and the Education Service Center Region 11, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our staff.
