About the position This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere within the assigned geography of the Great Lakes Region (WI, MI, OH, IL, IN, KY, W.PA) The Field CISO is a critical role within Optiv and the Client Advisory organization, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic security leader for our clients. This individual will leverage deep technical expertise and business acumen to understand client security challenges, develop tailored solutions, and effectively communicate the value of Optiv's solutions and offerings. The Field CISO will be a key contributor to sales pursuits, client relationships, client retention, offering development and industry thought leadership activities. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced individual with a passion for cybersecurity and a proven ability to influence and drive positive change. Responsibilities • Serve as a trusted security advisor to clients, understanding their business objectives, risk tolerance and cyber security posture. They will translate those needs into actionable security solutions, working with field sales organization to position these solutions with Optiv Clients. Their responsibilities will include leading security assessments and workshops while developing presentations and proposals that effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences. Additionally develop and deliver compelling value propositions that highlight the benefits of Optiv's security solutions. • Collaborate with field sales teams to identify and qualify opportunities in Optiv client base, contributing to the sales pursuit and successful design of security solutions, and services engagements. • Build, leverage, and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, including CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and the broader security team of Optiv Clients. Attend and build relationships at industry security events, leading local chapters where possible. Contribute to the development of thought leadership content on a regular basis. These include but are not limited to Blog Posts, White Papers, Threat Updates, Solution Architectures, and conference presentations. • Maintain knowledge of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, compliance requirements, frameworks, and industry best practices. Understand the current and changing IT Landscape, and how innovative technologies can impact a company business risks, and security posture. Provide regular knowledge sharing and insights with clients and internal teams. • Provide feedback to Services and Solution development teams on market trends and client needs, influencing the future direction of Optiv's offerings. • Represent Optiv at industry events and conferences, building brand awareness and networking with potential clients. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on consulting, architecture, or leadership roles. • Proven experience working with enterprise clients, understanding their security challenges, and developing tailored solutions. • Deep understanding of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2. • Strong technical skills in areas such as network security, cloud security, endpoint security, and incident response. • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and executive audiences. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
