Laboratory Information Management Systems Specialist

Job Summary: This role supports global laboratory operations by maintaining and enhancing Laboratory Information Management Systems with a focus on Thermo SampleManager. The position involves translating laboratory test methods into system calculations, supporting quality systems, and ensuring accurate reporting of laboratory results. The specialist will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure validated and compliant laboratory data processes. Key Responsibilities: • Support global laboratories with projects related to Laboratory Information Management Systems, with a primary focus on Thermo SampleManager • Interpret laboratory test methods to define calculations and formulas required for result generation • Build and maintain custom calculation fields within the Laboratory Information Management System • Support chromatographic data systems as a secondary responsibility • Draft clear documentation to guide laboratories on calculation usage and result reporting • Follow established calculation validation and quality system processes • Collaborate closely with the Quality Systems support team Required Qualifications: • Scientific background with experience working in an analytical laboratory environment • Hands-on experience with chromatography and laboratory test methods • Experience supporting laboratory quality systems or laboratory administration tools • Ability to interpret analytical methods and translate them into system-based calculations • Experience working with multi-site or cross-functional laboratory teams Preferred Qualifications: • Experience using Thermo SampleManager Laboratory Information Management Systems • Working knowledge of chromatographic data systems such as Empower or Chromeleon • Experience supporting global or multi-stakeholder laboratory system initiatives Benefits: The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually – as applicable.
