Get ready to work on our biggest puzzle when you join the Network Planning %26amp; Alliances team.%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3E%3Cstrong%3EJob overview and responsibilities%3C/strong%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3EThe Manager - Decision Sciences will ensure that United Airlines%27 Network Planning team has access to state-of-the-art models that will eventually be utilized by planners and schedulers to forecast demand and plan, evaluate and construct schedules.%3C/span%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3EIdentify the best models to use, build subject matter expertise in the models’ domain, continuously improve the design and application of these models, and work with user groups to ensure models are used to their fullest potential%3C/span%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3ELead efforts to partner with technology teams to continuously develop and improve the models used by Network Planning%3C/span%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3EWork with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and implement new models, features and datasets%3C/span%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3EResearch whether models should be developed in-house or purchased%3C/span%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3EImplement improvements to existing models including how they are configured and calibrated%3C/span%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3ELead, coach, and develop analysts on the team%3C/span%3E%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;%22%3ENOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time spent working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.%3C/span%3E%3C/p%3E What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in a relevant field such as Network Planning, Revenue Management or Operations Research Familiarity with operational, financial and marketing related issues commonly faced in the airline industry Knowledge of a large array of modeling, forecasting, and optimization techniques and tools Ability to work with large cross-functional teams and on projects independently Strong communication and presentation skills Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
