About the position The Mental Health Clinician at Therapeutic Health Services (THS) is responsible for conducting initial intake assessments and providing crisis support, brief interventions, referrals, and case management for individuals enrolling in mental health services. This role is crucial in supporting the behavioral health needs of vulnerable populations, including those affected by substance use and mental health disorders, particularly within the BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities. The position is primarily remote but may require some in-person interactions. Responsibilities • Conduct initial intake assessments for individuals enrolling in mental health services. • Provide crisis support and brief interventions to clients. • Manage referrals and case management for prospective or enrolled clients. • Ensure prompt and accurate clinical documentation of intake assessments. • Schedule and coordinate services for assigned participants. • Provide advocacy and wrap-around services in an outpatient setting. • Develop initial treatment plans with participant input, focusing on strengths. • Participate in staff meetings, consultations, and training programs. • Consult with psychiatric practitioners and other professionals as needed. • May provide individual and group therapy as clinically indicated. Requirements • Master's degree in a social service field is required. • WA State DOH credential for mental health counseling and assessment is required. • Minimum of one year experience providing behavioral health services. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of participants and co-workers. • Experience in engaging families in the treatment process is preferred. • Experience conducting multi-dimensional assessments and interventions. Nice-to-haves • Experience in providing individual and group therapy. • Demonstrated cultural humility in clinical work.
