Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction to students with learning disabilities, tailoring your teaching methods to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student. Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with district and state standards, incorporating researched best practices and strategies to engage students and promote academic achievement. Utilize a range of teaching techniques and technologies to support student learning, including differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly, using data-driven decision-making to inform your teaching practices. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning, respect, and empathy among students. Collaborate with colleagues and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about student progress and involve them in the educational process. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and research-based instructional strategies. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A current Minnesota teaching license in Special Education - Learning Disabilities (LD). A bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Prior experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities. Knowledge of researched best practices and strategies in special education, including differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education settings. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of English language proficiency. Knowledge of current technologies and digital tools that support teaching and learning.
