Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, Payroll & General Accounting to own payroll accounting and key GL processes using NetSuite and TriNet. Responsibilities include payroll and bonus JEs, hourly payroll entries, payroll cash tracking, bank and account reconciliations, labor allocations/cross-charges, labor capitalization, benefits accounting (401(k), OneDigital, Empower), and UHC/COBRA invoice reconciliation. This role drives an accurate, well-controlled monthly close (BD+5), supports external audits, and implements process improvements and automation. Key Responsibilities: • Payroll Accounting (TriNet + NetSuite): Prepare/post all payroll, bonus, off-cycle, and hourly journal entries including wages, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings; maintain payroll cash tracking; coordinate wires/ACH as needed. • Reconciliations: Perform biweekly payroll-to-bank reconciliations; prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for payroll and benefits accounts; investigate/clear reconciling items. • Month-End / Quarter-End Close: Execute close checklist, prepare flux analyses for owned areas, ensure accurate cut-off; meet BD+5 timelines. • Benefits & Year-End: Record employer contributions/deductions; prepare quarter/year-end JEs for 401(k), OneDigital, Empower; reconcile UHC/COBRA invoices to GL and headcount. • Labor Allocations & Capitalization: Prepare labor allocation JEs (cross-charges across BUs) with documented drivers; support labor capitalization per policy for qualifying projects. • Banking & Deposits: Prepare bank deposits and related entries; ensure proper GL coding and approvals. • Controls, Documentation, Audit: Maintain process narratives/desk procedures; strengthen controls and SOX readiness; fulfill auditor PBC requests with complete and timely support. • Process Improvement & Automation: Recommend/implement improvements in NetSuite, TriNet, and Excel; streamline data flows, reconciliations, and recurring entries. Qualifications: • 5+ years of accounting; 3+ years in payroll accounting (senior/staff level or equivalent). • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • General ledger experience (NetSuite preferred); HR/payroll platforms (TriNet preferred). • Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, reconciliations, allocation/accrual modeling). • Accuracy and attention to detail; strong internal controls mindset; excellent written/verbal communication; ability to handle confidential information; problem-solving and ownership. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Compensation • Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience • Total compensation includes annual bonus, comprehensive benefits packages (medical, dental, vision, 401k, and flexible PTO).
