Watercolor and Art Instructor (Virtual, Bilingual English/Spanish)

Televeda is an online platform dedicated to reducing loneliness and building joyful connections through engaging and interactive experiences for older adults. We are looking for a warm, creative, and bilingual Watercolor and Art Instructor to lead virtual art classes that inspire confidence, self-expression, and connection. While watercolor will be the main focus, we welcome instructors who can introduce other approachable art techniques as well, such as sketching, mixed media, or simple crafts suitable for older adults with a range of physical abilities. As the Watercolor and Art Instructor, you will lead 1 to 2 virtual classes per week, offering step-by-step guidance in a supportive, encouraging, and patient environment where participants feel celebrated for trying something new. Key Responsibilities • Lead virtual beginner-friendly watercolor and art classes in a calm, supportive, and encouraging manner. • Guide participants through each step, offering positive feedback and easy-to-follow instructions. • Adapt techniques so that older adults, including those with dexterity challenges or limited mobility, can participate fully and enjoyably. • Build a welcoming class atmosphere that sparks creativity, connection, and confidence. • Provide clear verbal cues and visual demonstrations appropriate for a virtual art class. • Prepare thoroughly for each session and collaborate with the Televeda team on scheduling and promotion as needed. • Teach comfortably in both English and Spanish to support our bilingual community. Scheduling Details • Classes are scheduled based on instructor availability and participant interest. • Most classes occur on weekdays during daytime hours. • Expect to teach 1 to 2 classes per week. Qualifications • Experience teaching watercolor or similar visual art techniques, especially at a beginner level. • Fluent in both English and Spanish. • Warm, patient, and uplifting personality with a passion for building community through art. • Comfortable teaching virtually with clear demonstrations and camera setup. • Reliable computer with a working camera and strong internet connection. • No liability insurance required for this role. Independent Contractor Agreement This is a contractor position, 2-4 hrs/week, not an employee role. Your bio, photo, and class descriptions may be used for promotional purposes while you are under contract with Televeda.
